This introductory course focuses on the concept of health, and issues related to the promotion, maintenance and restoration of health. Nursing roles and values will be emphasized. Establishes a firm basis on which to build subsequent practical nursing courses. The emphasis is on the essential principles, concepts, and skills needed for the student to begin learning the role of a practical nurse. Fundamental principles, concepts, and technology for the safe performance of basic nursing skills are provided through faculty guided campus laboratory and off-campus learning experiences in acute and long-term adult health care settings
