Prof. Ahmed Ghallab Mohamed – Aswan University President stated that within the framework of the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the Supreme Council of Universities in stressing the application of precautionary measures in light of confronting the emerging coronavirus, especially the patients of the university hospital, the medical staff and the nursing staff, and in the interest of the safety of the health system in Aswan University Hospital; the principle of reward and punishment is applied with negligent people in applying the precautionary measures
Ghallab added that ongoing expansion projects that are being implemented by (85%) of the construction project of Internal Diseases Hospital (Al Batinah Hospital), whose construction cost reaches (68) million pounds, and it consists of (5) floors, as it includes (150) beds distributed in sections ( General and special internal medicine – brain and nerves – heart – tumors – thoracic – skin and physiotherapy
Prof. Mohamed Zaki Al-Dahshouri- Dean of the Faculty of Human Medicine indicated that at the same time work is underway on a project to establish a reception and emergency hospital, which consists of (5) floors, with a construction cost of (300) million pounds, and will include (150) other beds in sections (surgical operations – Trauma emergency – intensive care – radiology – laboratories), and the urology department is being developed to restore the visit of the university hospital’s committee to grant kidney transplantation licenses.
Dr. Ashraf Maabad – Executive Director of University Hospitals stated that the university hospital departments are daily following up the development work in the departments (reception – emergency), which will include (24) beds and care rooms for its patient service center and an increase in equipping the classrooms in each service department for students of college excellence. Human medicine is also underway in the central restaurant of the university hospital, which includes two halls for meals and a laundromat to serve the doctors and patients of the university hospital. 75% of the bed capacity will also be added after the completion of the current expansion projects.
