President of Aswan University: The opening of the Intensive Care Unit at the university hospital is a new addition to serve Aswan patients

Today,  Major General Ashraf Attia/ Governor of Aswan , Dr. Ahmed Ghallab Mohamed, President of Aswan University, Dr. Mohamed Zaki El Dahshouri, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Dr. Ihab Hanafi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health, Dr. Ashraf Maabad, Executive Director of Aswan University Hospitals, Dr. Essam Abul-Majd, Director of the Central Administration for Health Affairs at the hospital, and Dr. Moez El-Shuhdy, CEO of the Egyptian Shifa Bank ,witnessed  The opening of the intensive care unit (ICU) at the university hospital in 10th,Feb,2021

Prof. Dr. Ahmed Ghalab Mohammed, President of Aswan University, said that the intensive care unit was opened, which is a gift from the Egyptian  ALShefa Bank, which includes 10 center care beds, 10 monitors, a central monitoring unit, 18 pumps for solutions, 5 medical pumps, 5 airbeds, and 10 respirators. A modern industrial facility whose cost is  estimated at 10 million pounds. A new incinerator has also been installed and operated to dispose of medical waste in the university hospital, with an estimated cost of 7 million pounds.

And that the opening of the intensive care unit is a new addition to the university hospital’s patients service, which includes 75 intensive care units, and with the opening of this unit, the total intensive care unit in the university hospital reaches 85 care and intensive care units to serve the people of Aswan Governorate and the neighboring governorates.

For his part, Dr. Moez Al-Shuhdy, CEO of the Egyptian Shifa Bank, said that the Egyptian Shifa Bank has been working for ten years to provide a system of free health care for citizens who are unable to bear the cost of treatment from members of the Egyptian community through our experiences in the field of charitable and health work, and our strong and lasting partnerships with Entities concerned with providing health service from governmental and university hospitals.

Dr. Muhammad Zaki Dahshouri, Dean of the College of Medicine, indicated that the intensive care unit is an essential component of any Aswan University Hospital.

Dr. Ashraf Maabed, Executive Director of University Hospitals in Aswan, explained that the University Hospital is working to receive all sick cases from Aswan Governorate and the neighboring governorates, and the hospital administration seeks to provide the medical service that befits Aswan’s children, and the unit is a new breakthrough that is added to the total care of the University Hospital in Aswan.
