Aswan University holds a press conference to celebrate winning first places in international scientific classifications

Today, Monday, Aswan University, a press conference was held to announce the details of the university’s obtaining international classifications at the scientific level for three consecutive years, and this came in the presence of Major General / Ashraf Attia – Governor of Aswan – and Prof. / Ayman Mahmoud Othman – Acting President of Aswan University – And Dr. Atallah Hashad – Head of the Arab Academy for Maritime Transport in Aswan branch – and a number of college deans.

Major General / Ashraf Attia stressed that Aswan University and the governorate are two sides of the same coin, and between them is integration in various fields, and the governorate provides all support and assistance to Aswan University to complete its advanced research and scientific career at the level of universities in the world and because it represents the house of expertise to provide technical and scientific advice and positive interaction with the community and the surrounding environment to provide all I support.

For his part, Prof. Ayman Mahmoud Othman added that the results of the British Times Classification of World Universities 2022 came and showed the classification of Aswan University among the best 500 universities in the world, as it came in the 401 500 category, and the university ranked first as the best university in the world in terms of Citation from research for the second time in its history, as the university maintained its position at the top of the Egyptian universities for the third year in a row, through the university’s plan in the research and graduate studies sector, the university’s classification unit and the development of the scientific research infrastructure.

On the other hand, Dr. Mohamed Abdel Aziz, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Head of the University Classification Unit, indicated that Aswan University is the only Egyptian university that came among the top 500 universities in the world according to the results of the current version of the British Times Classification 2022, where Aswan University achieved in Last April, a unique achievement, the first of its kind, as it achieved the best ranking of Egyptian universities ever in the British Times classification to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals 2021, where Aswan University came in 95th place among the top 100 universities in the world.

At the end of the conference, shields were exchanged between Major General Ashraf Attia, Aswan Governor, and Prof. Ayman Othman, Acting President of the University. A number of university leaders were honored and some souvenir photos were taken.
