Prof.Ahmed Ghallab-Aswan University President said that launching a Walking Sports Day among the events of the initiative entitled ”Sport is National Security” that is launched under the auspices of President/Abdul Fattah Al Sisi, the events have been started Sunday in front of the administrative building at the campus in Sahari taking into consideration all precautionary measures to confront the emerging coronavirus in the presence of Dr.Adel Makki- Dean of the Faculty of Physical Education.
Prof.Ahmed Ghallab confirmed that the initiative at Aswan University witnessed its fifth week since the beginning of the academic year under the presidential initiative entitled” sport is National Security” and working on carrying out the initiative of ” our health in our sport” Aswan University has organized walking marathon only for female students. Prof.Ahmed Ghallab added the university stadium that has been equipped with high level and with a capacity of 5000 spectators includes VIP hall, administrative offices, dress-up rooms, and all student activities and football competitions are practiced on it as well as the multi-purposes playgrounds have been completed such as basketball, volleyball, beach ball, and handball.
At the current time, the university has a capacity of hosting student festivals, sports courses, and the university championships that are held in the context of student activities for the academic year 2020\2021 according to the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the Supreme Council of Universities. Dr. Adel Makki-Dean of the Faculty of Physical Education indicated that the faculty put a plan to implement the initiative through specializing two days for participating all in practicing sport every Sunday and Tuesday from each week under the concept of sport became a lifestyle.
