Prof.Ahmed Ghallab-Aswan University President participated with students in the Sport Today which includes the marathon of running from the unfinished obelisk at the Airport Road to the Campus at Sahari; it was attended by (1500) male students and (100) female one as well as the academic staff and the dean of the faculty of physical education. Students of the faculty of Physical Education participated in a Kayak competition in the Rowing Club, at the end of the marathon prizes are distributed for the winners and a cup for the first place.
Prof.Ahmed Ghallab-Aswan University President stated that the university has taken all the precautionary and protective measures to confront the emerging coronavirus, as well as the will never compromise with applying its plan on all various sectors and administrations of the university throughout the university year.
That coincides with the continuous of the state against the spreading of coronavirus to ensure the safety and health of our students, with distributing the medical masks and taking into account social distance and entering through sterilizing gate. Gallab emphasized the continuous of the university on applying its strategic plan to ensure the safety of all the university employees, academic staff, and students.
Throughout sterilizing all the educational and administrative buildings at the campus in Sahari such as study halls, transporting means, administrative offices, laboratories, and others with keeping the social distance as well as all the precautionary measures have been taken in the campus of New Aswan City which includes 6 faculties: Arts-Medicine-Archaeology-Dar Al Uloom-Law- Commerce and in the near future will include faculty of tourism and faculty of dentistry. The university works on applying the e-learning and hybrid system to reduce the intensity of students’ attendance and specify two days for each batch from the batches of the theoretical faculties, with taking into consideration applying all the precautionary measures in the headquarters of six faculties at the different areas of Aswan Governorate, for ensuring the safety of students and applying the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and the Supreme Council of Universities.
The university president explained during the previous period the University Hostels have been prepared by implementing a lot of maintenance and repair works for the buildings of the university hostels as well as making periodic maintenance for the buildings, while a permanent integrated medical clinic has been set in the building of Sahari from the previous year and working on developing it permanently and providing it with drugs and the medical requirements in cooperation with the medical administration of the university, Dr.Ahmed Ghallab indicated the university received today 25 thousand students at the various faculties of the university that amount to 19 faculties and institutes.
