Under the auspiece of Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and Dr. Ayman Mahmoud Othman, Acting President of Aswan University, the Violence Against Women Unit at Aswan University organized a workshop to raise awareness of women’s issues and work to protect them.
Prof. Ayman Othman, President of Aswan University, emphasized the state’s interest in women and work to empower them under the leadership of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, and in line with the projection axis of the National Strategy for Women Empowerment 2030 and work to support women and girls on campus and within the framework of the 16 campaign. A day to combat violence against women in Egyptian universities. Today, the Unit of Violence against Women at Aswan University, represented by Dr. Mohamed Ahmed Sayed Khalil – Executive Director of the Unit – and Dr. Sally Hariri – Coordinator of Technical Activities in the Unit and Deputy Director of the Unit, held an awareness day that included several topics, the most important of which are:

1-Women’s rights in Islam and the heavenly religions, and Dr. Sadeq Abdeen, who has a Ph.D. in Islamic Education, lectured.

2-Women and music, with a lecture by Dr. Sonia Hassan, a music teacher at the Faculty of Specific Education

3-Artistic patterns and works of the Nubian woman in heritage, in which Ms. Asma Atiq, Teaching Assistant, Department of Art Education, Faculty of Specific Education.

4-An art exhibition illustrating the various forms of violence against women, prepared by students of the Faculties of Education and Specific Education and some university students, under the supervision and coordination of Dr. Sally Hariri.

Dr. Mohamed Ahmed Sayed Khalil, Executive Director of the unit, added that the awareness day included the importance of dialogue and an introduction to the unit, its objectives, and the unit’s future plan in the coming period, then a brief lecture on the issue of female circumcision, women’s political empowerment, and some other topics related to women and the preservation of women’s rights. Her rights and this was in the rehab of the College of Education under the leadership and leadership of Dr. / Radi Abdel Meguid, Dean of the College, and concluded the day by taking group photos with the male and female students attending.
