Dr:Khaled Abdelghaffar –minister of higher education and scientific research has reviewed a report submitted by Dr:Kamelia Sobhey –the acting head of cultural affairs and missions sector on launching the cultural competition for universities and technical institutes students of the academic year 2019/2020 in cooperation with ministry of environment.
The report referred, according to a ministerial statement that the general administration of studies and cultural researches affiliated to central administration of cultural cooperation has done overall development of the cultural competition which is released every year by the administration. The development included changing the topics of the competition to keep pace with Egypt vision 2030 and Egypt commitment to sustainable development goals by raising issues related to environment, as a contribution from ministry of higher education in raising environmental awareness among universities and technical institutes’ students.
The topics addressed in the competition included environment problems and how to preserve environment, the first topic addressed global warming and its impact on countries and societies .while the second topic addressed international environmental conventions, the third topic addressed “desertification and land degradation, and the fourth topic addressed biodiversity in Egypt.
The development also covered the way of applying for the competition to facilitate the students sending their researches on this link.
The report mentioned that the competition is released for the first time in cooperation with ministry of environment, and it has been agreed to redouble the financial rewards for the winners with input from ministry of environment in addition to the reward of ministry of higher education ,noted that the deadline of receiving researches on April 1st 2020.
