The Minister of High Education opened the new administration building at Aswan University

Today, Saturday, Dr.  Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, opened the new administrative building of Aswan University in the city of Sahara, in the presence of Prof. Ayman Othman, President of the University, and a number of university presidents, leaders of higher education and former presidents of Aswan University.

The minister praised the level of the new administrative building, which comes within the framework of the continuous development and expansion of the buildings and facilities of Aswan University, in parallel with the efforts made at the university at the level of qualitative development of educational and research services, stressing that this reflects the amount of attention paid by the Egyptian state and its political leadership to university education. Through the large investments that are being pumped into the development and modernization of universities, to carry out their scientific and educational role as intended, stressing the importance of linking educational programs with the requirements of the labor market and development goals in Egypt, in accordance with its vision (2030).

The Minister also inspected the examination committees at the University’s College of Nursing, and praised the strict application of precautionary measures in the examination committees. The Minister directed the continuation of these procedures throughout the examination period, the first semester.

The Minister of Higher Education and university presidents watched an artistic and musical performance of the choir of students of the Music Education Department at the Faculty of Specific Education at the university. The minister praised the students’ artistic performance, which included some national and heritage songs that express the city of Aswan.

On his part, Prof. Ayman Othman said that Aswan University is witnessing a great boom in its various educational, research, and construction sectors, in light of the great interest that the political leadership attaches to Egyptian universities, explaining that the new central administration building is built on a total area of ​​31,960 square meters and that the total area of ​​the project includes a two-story building with flat 6600 m 2 per floor, and the area of ​​the general site surrounding the building is 25360 m 2 .

Prof. Aymn Othman  added that this building contains six wings, accommodating all the administrative sectors of the university, namely: the university’s senior administration, the university president’s office, his deputies, the secretary-general, assistant secretaries, and the university’s administration in its various sectors, which include: (education and student affairs, graduate studies and research, Community service and environmental affairs), the central library, training rooms, conference rooms, and electronic examination rooms, stressing the importance of this administrative edifice in improving work performance and the level of services provided within the university.

On his part, Dr. Adel Abdel Ghaffar, the official spokesman for the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, stated that Aswan University is one of the beacons of science and knowledge on the land of Upper Egypt. First at the level of Egyptian universities in the British Times ranking of universities for emerging economies 2022, and 115th in a list of 900 universities worldwide last October, and 201-250 globally according to the British Times, and first locally in engineering for the third year in a row, and among the best 400 universities globally in October 2021, and the first place at the level of Egyptian universities in the field of computer science, and the fourth in physics locally, and among the best 600 universities in the world, in addition to its presence for the second year in a row in the classification of the best Arab universities
